I do Trap/Neuter/Vax/Return/Adopt for community cats in my neighborhood and foster cats and kittens for Beautiful Together Animal Sanctuary, which is based in Chapel Hill

Tell us more about that work and its importance in our community.
I do TNVRA to reduce the number of unwanted free roaming or community/feral cats. Getting male cats neutered reduces cat battles/fighting (reduced testosterone) and keeps them from mating with un-spayed female cats. Spaying females keeps them from have litter after litter. Female cats can have four litters a year, each with three to five kittens, who, if left in the wild are subjected to starvation, freezing, disease, and attacks by coyotes, raccoons, hawks and other animals. And if they survive, once the female kittens hit four months, they go into heat and can get pregnant, starting the cycle of kitten season all over again! Rather, by spaying and neutering community cats, the cats will be healthier, and if introduced to a colony, can be fed, sheltered, and sometimes socialized to become an indoor housecat. Over the past four years I have TNRd (with the help of a variety of feral cat spay/neuter programs) over 100 cats and kittens in my neighborhood.
I work with Beautiful Together Animal Sanctuary by fostering rescued/abandoned/released mama cats and their neonatal kittens. I give them shelter, food, support and socialization in my home with medical support from Beautiful Together until they are ready to get vetted (n/s/v) and adopted.
Beautiful Together's mission is to rescue animals who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned and give them the comprehensive care they deserve. They extend that care through programs that bring rescued animals, children, and our community together – building empathy, supporting mental health, and giving every animal the love and socialization they need to thrive.

I also do cat sitting for people who travel and need someone to drop in on their kitties to feed/water/scoop litterboxes and play/cuddle with their furrbabies.
