Tell us more about that work and its importance in our community.

As a career public school educator, I see firsthand the challenges our public schools are facing due to chronic underfunding, high staff turnover, and unfair policies and laws. As a member of DAE, I can be part of the fight for equitable solutions that improve learning conditions for our students and working conditions for our workers. As the DAE Student Services Director, I work specifically on conditions for those of us who work with students outside of the regular classroom. Even if you don't have your own children in Durham Public Schools, our students are the future of Durham and deserve unwavering support!
